  • Monitoring and researching drug use and developing responses.

  • Contributing to legislation and influencing health policy.
  • Sharing evidence-based information with decision and policy makers.
  • Developing screening and early interventions for people who use drugs, including young people.
  • Participating and coordinating national and international working groups and projects.
  • Cooperation with ministries, professional associations, and non-profit organisations in Estonia and internationally.

  • Counselling programme for people who use cannabis.
  • Support worker for people who use drugs (programme SÜTIK).
  • 24/7 online support concerning drugs and dependence.
  • Harm reduction services, including for people who inject drugs, and safer nightlife initiatives.
  • Take-home naloxone programme to prevent overdose related deaths.

Training and information activities

  • Training professionals to equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to help people who use drugs.
  • Preparing and distributing information materials for the public and professionals.
  • Administration of the website www.narko.ee that provides information on drugs, their effects, safer use and how to get help.
  • Administration of the website www.tarkvanem.ee that provides information for parents on drug prevention and developing parenting skills.
  • Administration of the website www.terviseinfo.ee that provides methodologies, publications, and guidance materials for professionals in the field of drug prevention.
