Causes of deaths 2017

The data for deaths and death rates in 2017 were published in the Health Statistics and Health Research Database.

According to the Causes of Death Registry, 15 442 deaths were registered in Estonia in 2017, which is 1.1% more than a year earlier. Growth is affected by the population aging - the standardized mortality rate per 100,000 inhabitants has fallen instead: from 1203 to 1188, or 1.2%.

Emergency medical care departments, 2017

The 2017 data of emergency medical care departments (tables KE30–KE34) is published in the Health Statistics and Health Research Database. Selected emergency medical care departments’ data by Hospital Masterplan hospitals (table HH05) is also available.

Last year about 1300 patients turned to hospitals’ emergency medical care departments in a day, which is 1.4 % less compared to 2016. 20 hospitals in Estonia provide emergency medical care.



Health Board' national register of health care professionals data 2017

Registered health care professionals at the end of 2017 and health care personnel who have taken certificate for the recognition of professional qualification to work abroad during 2017 statistics is published in Health Statistics and Health Research Database. Data source is Health Board’ national register of health care professionals.

Statistics is available in the database under the topic “Health care resources and their use” –> "Health care personnel" –> tables THT022 and THT023.
